Strain Review: Tutankhamon (King Tut)

April 16, 2019 No Comments

Named after the Pharaoh of Egypt (1333-1324 B.C.) who:

1) married his step-sister at age seven;
2) took the throne at age nine; and
3) ruled until he was 18;

“King Tut” is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain that might be the key to breaking the curse.

Strain Information

Tutankhamon comes from Barcelona-based cannabis seed bank, Pyramid Seeds. Its genetics come from the all-too-familiar parent strain, AK-47, and has been around for the last century. The strain is known for its potent THC levels (~30%), cerebral effects, skunky aroma and slight citrus flavor.

A nugget of spongy green King Tut sits atop a green medical marijuana container. The container is placed next to a graphic, black and white lighter.

The strain’s medicinal properties are used for:

  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Chronic Pain
  • Inflammation

Blunt Girl’s Review

Crushing up this gorgeous, spongy flower, I experienced its magic via my small, glass pipe. Within a couple of puffs, I was slapped in the face with an intense, creative energy.

I immediate threw myself into my writing, began planning out my blog and content calendar, and was buzzing with energy. I even spiraled down the rabbit hole of the internet, hopping from one website (or Google query) to the next. A tad dry at the mouth, I gulped water to go along with my chips and hummus. At the end of my mania, I slept like an angel baby on a cloud — even the cat couldn’t wake me.

King Tut is a strain worth using before work (unlike my 9 p.m. smoke session) or embarking on a creative project. It’s the perfect strain when you need a dose of inspiration or a way to kick a caffeine habit.
